[ARCHIVED] To Residents of Fort Square, Commercial St, Beach Court and Pascucci Court

October 1, 2012

To Residents and Businesses in “The Fort” including the areas in and around Commercial Street, Beach Court, Pascucci Court, Fort Square, and Tally’s Corner neighborhoods, please be advised that the City has hired the engineering firm of AECOM, to investigate, design, permit, and assist the City to bid improvements to Public Infrastructure in your neighborhood.

Beginning in the next few days you will begin to see significant activity including, utility mark-outs, land surveying, closed circuit tv inspection of pipes, and earth borings & rock coring by AECOM and their sub-contractors. You will also see crews from the DPW Utilities Division marking-out utilities and cleaning utility structures.

These activities, because of the nature of the streets in the area, may cause minor traffic delays; however, Police Officers will be on-hand to insure public safety and help minimize any delays or disruptions. These efforts to investigate the existing conditions in your neighborhood are critical to moving the City’s Infrastructure Project forward in as expeditious and efficient manner as possible.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the City Engineer, Paul Keane, at 978-281-9773 or email Paul at: pkeane@gloucester-ma.gov.
