NOTICE TO OUR WATER CUSTOMERS

Starting on Monday 4/24/23 the Department of Public Works will undertake our annual spring water distribution main flushing program. This will occur on evenings from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. for the next four to six weeks.

This “unidirectional flushing” program helps improve water quality by removing any sediments that may have accumulated in the pipes. This important preventative maintenance program ensures we can provide our customers the highest quality drinking water and maintain our critical infrastructure.

While unidirectional flushing takes place in your neighborhood, you may experience temporary low water pressure or discolored water. If discolored water is experienced, simply run your cold water for three to five minutes. Discolored water only affects the appearance of the water, it does not pose a health or safety risk.

If you experience water quality problems after flushing has occurred in your neighborhood, please contact the DPW Office at 978-325-5600.

Thank you for your cooperation.
