Lahey Health Community Health Needs Assessment Survey
In 2012, Lahey Health conducted a comprehensive community health needs assessment for the communities on the North Shore/Cape Ann, and particularly those that are part of Addison Gilbert and Beverly Hospital's primary service area. The overall goals of the assessment were to identify major health care needs, service gaps, barriers to access, and health priorities for those living in the region. As part of the assessment John Snow, Inc (JSI) compiled quantitative and qualitative information from a broad array of sources. By informing and motivating the communities involved in the assessment, Lahey Health System is eager to build collaborative relationships, leverage existing community resources, and encourage community dialogue. Ultimately, the purpose of the assessment was to facilitate the development of short and long-term strategic plans to guide the health investments for the North Shore and Cape Ann communities.
As part of this project JSI has compiled a series of reports that have presented the findings from this assessment. Most of these reports have reported findings for the North Shore overall and have presented data for Essex County as well as aggregate data for all towns that were part of the assessment. The attached file or link attachments present summary findings specifically for the City of Gloucester, Massachusetts. The purpose of this report is to provide vital information specifically for City officials, town residents and the health and social service organizations that serve the city so that they can be used to improve the health and well-being of those who live or work in the Gloucester community.
