Hot work is any activity or process that involves open flames or that generates sparks or heat and includes: Welding and allied processes; heat treating; grinding; thawing pipes; powder-driven fasteners; hot riveting; torch-applied roofing; and any similar applications producing or using sparks, flame or heat.
Propane Tank Installation/Removal
Permit Application for the Installation and/or Removal of Propane Tanks (both above ground and underground).
Propane Tank: Mobile or Temporary Usage
Permit Application for the use of propane tanks that will NOT be 1) permanently installed or 2) removed from a permanent location.
Real Estate Transfer
Application for Certificate of Compliance for Smoke Detectors & Carbon Monoxide Alarms (M.G.L. Chapter 148, Sections 26F, 26F1/2.
Sprinkler System Repair
Emergency repairs can be made without a permit, provided that oral notification is given to the Gloucester Fire Department *before* work begins and a permit application is submitted *within 24 hours* of beginning work.
Storage of Flammable Material
Permit application for annual or temporary storage of flammable and combustible materials.
For all Permits listed above, appointments will be scheduled as requested through the Viewpoint Cloud request.
Fees for permits and associated inspections are collected at the time a permit is issued or approved via Gloucester’s Online Permitting Center on View Point Cloud.
