Gloucester Municipal Credit Union

The Gloucester Municipal Credit Union offers savings accounts, loans, and other benefits to City employees.  For specific information, or to enroll, please call the Gloucester Municipal Credit Union at (978) 283-1345.  The Credit Union is located in the basement at City Hall.  Hours are Monday - Thursday 11:00 am - 3:00 pm and Fridays from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Deferred Compensation (SMART Plan)

The City’s Deferred Compensation plan (SMART Plan) allows you to defer a specified amount of your current income on a pre-tax basis.  The payment of the deferred amount, and all interest and dividends, will be made at a later date (presumably when you have retired and are in a lower income tax bracket).  For enrollment information, please call Larry Guelfo at Great West (781) 581-0233 or e-mail at lawrence.guelfo@GWRS.com.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The City’s Employee Assistance Program Provider offers confidential short-term counseling and referral to employees and their family members on issues such as drug and alcohol dependency, adolescent and elder care problems, financial and legal difficulty, etc.  For more information, you may confidentially contact Human Resources at (978) 281-9742, or contact the Employee Assistance Program directly at (978) 304-6551.
