Rose Baker Senior Center

Monday, Wed, Friday
8:00 am - 2:30 pm
The Gloucester Council on Aging Supportive Day Care Program meets at the Rose Baker Senior Center, 6 Manuel F. Lewis Street, in the Supportive Day Care Room (first floor) on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, each week from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., and serves as a 'home away from home' for seniors who would otherwise be socially isolated at home. To attend Supportive Day Care, a client must be socially appropriate for the program and able to take care of him/herself in the bathroom, and also with eating. Professional staff administer to lonely seniors who would not often otherwise get out of the house. We serve loved ones of caregivers who work and are in need of respite without concern.
Supportive Day Care staff plan and facilitate stimulating activities. Each client is provided supervision in a structured program based on individual needs. A balance of fun-filled and stimulating activities that encourage maintaining and improving optimal functioning is encouraged.
A morning snack and a well-balanced meal are provided each day. Clients attending the program receive a priceless experience for only $30.00 per day, or $15.00 per half day. Those needing financial assistance to attend this program are encouraged to discuss their needs with the staff as funding sources may be available.
Door-to-door transportation is available from CATA Bus. Please call us at 978-281-9765, ext. 20 for information.
