Planting Committee
Mission

Created by City ordinance, section 24-41 to 24-43. It shall be the duty of the Gloucester Plantings Committee to plan and coordinate plantings on city land, in public parks, and on public land alongside roads and ways within the city; to foster programs for maintaining these; to coordinate with representatives of the state planting arrangements involving state highways and lands; to advise the city on questions of planting; and in general, to encourage and facilitate plantings which benefit the city. The committee has the duty to determine that any land to be planted is not privately controlled land.

The Committee has 7 members, each serving a term of 3 years.
