Mission
The Gloucester Historical Commission (GHC) was established under M.G.L. Chapter 40, Section 8D; its mission is to preserve and protect Gloucester’s historical assets and develop public awareness and appreciation of Gloucester’s historic resources.
GHC is comprised of between three and seven members (all volunteers) who are appointed by the Mayor, each for a 3-year term.
Meetings are held on the last Monday of each month in City Hall and are open to the public.
